Titirangi Potters
- January 28, 2025
Established in 1972, Halswell Pottery Group is located inside a historic 120-year-old cottage on the outskirts of Christchurch. We currently have about 120 members and 36 students. members can make use of a range of facilities – wheel and hand work rooms, wheels, moulds, a spray booth, extruder and a slab roller are all on offer. Self-bookings of our electric kilns are also possible, and we regularly hold group firings of our gas, raku, pit and wood kilns. Monday is club day and the cottage is also open on the weekends from 11am – 3pm.
We hold several events for members throughout the year, including workshops from visiting potters, glazing classes and special firings. Our very popular pottery classes are held four times per week – Tuesday mornings and evenings are hand building classes, and wheelwork is taught on Wednesday and Thursday evenings. Our group also has a gallery that is open on weekends where our members can sell their pots.
Prospective members of all skill levels and new students are welcome to get in touch by email or visit our cottage on a Saturday or Sunday during opening hours. We are located at 9 Candys Road, just down the road from Moffatts Flowers.
