Duncan Shearer

Description

In 1998 I graduated with a bachelor in 3D design, majoring in ceramics from UNITEC and since then I have been working as a studio potter. I was the Co-Director of the Auckland Studio Potters from 2000 to 2007 and the Manager of the Waikato Society of Potters from 2008 to 2012.

I moved to Karangahake in 2014 and set up Rahu Road Pottery. I make a range of wheel thrown functional pots. I teach a range of workshops from my studio including kiln firing, glazing and throwing classes. I also deliver off-site workshops at pottery clubs or private studios around the country.

As a kiln builder my expertise are called on by potters and pottery societies looking for advice and help in building and maintaining their kilns
