Shelley Gardner is the maker behind Old South Road Studio in Taranaki. She creates handbuilt and wheel-thrown ceramics that combine illustration, storytelling, and everyday function. Inspired by folk art, nature, memory, and the quiet rituals of home, her work ranges from functional pottery to narrative sculptural pieces. Shelley also occasionally teaches pottery and enjoys helping beginners discover the joy of working with clay, believing that handmade objects can bring beauty, connection, and a little wonder to ordinary days.
