The Pot House Ceramics Gallery & Studios
The little gingerbread house packed with local ceramics by local potters
Description
The Pot House Gallery exemplifies the diverse nature of ceramic art serving not just as a display space but as a vibrant community hub. The eclectic range of ceramics on display in the quirky gingerbread house appeals to a wide audience, showcasing the creativity of 16 local artists. This gallery fosters a unique environment where visitors can engage with the artists themselves, as they work in their open studios, bridging the gap between creator and observer, and deepening the appreciation for the craft.
In addition to showcasing the talents of ceramicists in our retail shop, the Pot House Gallery plays a pivotal role in the cultural landscape of the Bay of Plenty. It includes the only dedicated Ceramics Exhibition Gallery in the Bay, nurturing New Zealand wide talent with a new exhibition launching at least 6 times a year.
As part of the Historic Village Tauranga, the gallery is situated in a cultural hotspot that is rapidly evolving. Being a part of The Incubator Creative Hub and the surrounding area, that is filled with other galleries, artisan boutiques, and unique cultural experiences, creates a rich tapestry of artistic expression that invites exploration and engagement. Working closely with The Creative Community Campus next door, there are opportunities to attend a diverse range of ceramic workshops and courses as well as hiring electric pottery wheels and kiln firing services.
Visitors to the gallery are not just passive observers; they become part of a thriving artistic community, encouraged to connect with the work and the artists behind it.
