Rubee Prattley-Jones | RPJ Ceramics and Art
Description
Rubee Prattley-Jones is a queer visual artist based in Tāmaki Makaurau. Their practice ranges across various mediums including drawing and sculpture, with a focus on ceramics.
Interpreting the world around them through their art, Rubee looks at the natural forces and human interventions that shape environments. Their work is influenced by natural found objects, as well as naturally eroded human-made materials. In their ceramics Rubee uses handbuilding for its intuitiveness, and incorporates natural found-materials such as wild clay, sediment and sand.
Rubee is a member of MUD Studios, and completed a three-month residency at Auckland Studio Potters from May to July 2025. See upcoming exhibition and events at rpjceramicsart.com
